Rye Peninsula
Allen Scott prepared a feasibility study for Rye Peninsula, exploring how the site could be masterplanned as a vibrant waterside destination while retaining its working maritime character. The study considered how the peninsula could be better connected to the town and how its marine-related industries, including the fisheries, moorings and dry dock area, could be strengthened as part of a wider regeneration vision.
The proposals explored opportunities to improve marine infrastructure, public realm and connectivity, alongside new uses including small business space, heritage uses, creative industries and housing. The study considered how these different elements could be brought together in a way that respected the peninsula’s distinctive character, waterfront setting and industrial identity. The resulting feasibility work set out a framework for a more active and better connected waterfront destination rooted in the heritage and working life of the peninsula.
