Our multi-award winning Woodberry Wetlands project realises the objectives of the partnership’s vision in opening a former fenced reservoir to public access. Owned by Thames Water and managed on-site by London Wildlife Trust the new parkland reserve engages and educates people in the natural, built and industrial heritage of the site. The derelict and Grade II listed Coal House was restored as a cafe and roof terrace, entrance boardwalks, new paths, interpretation and a learning zone all combine to link the reservoir to the new community whilst enhancing the wildfowl habitat and wider biodiversity values with extensive new reedbeds and wildflower meadow.
