Allen Scott were commissioned by Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) to prepare a spatial framework for an enhanced leisure and recreation hub within the listed park. The project included working closely with MBC to prepare and assess scenarios for locating a new adventure zone (high ropes climbing equipment), visitors’ centre / café, enhanced play facilities, skatepark and additional car parking.

The spatial framework included extensive analysis of the site and the community needs; research and development into other successful commercial operations; establishing design principles; exploring scenarios and presenting these to MBC for consideration.

Following adoption of the spatial framework, Allen Scott helped secure planning permission for the new adventure zone / commercial operation within this listed heritage park, and supported this through construction.
